The short version

Emoji Anywhere collects no personal data. It never connects to the internet, and it never saves what you type.

What the app does with your typing

The app watches your keyboard so it can notice when you type a colon followed by letters, like :fire. Only those few letters are kept, in memory, while the popup is open. They are thrown away as soon as you pick an emoji or keep typing. Nothing you type is written to disk or sent anywhere.

What the app saves on your PC

Both are stored only on your PC in %AppData%\EmojiAnywhere. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

Internet access

The app contains no networking code. It does not check for updates, send crash reports or collect usage statistics. It only opens a web page in your browser when you click "Source code" in its tray panel. The uninstaller also opens one optional feedback page in your browser after a normal uninstall. You can just close it.

This website

This website uses no cookies and no analytics. It is hosted on Vercel, which may keep standard technical logs of requests (such as IP address and time) to run and protect its service.

Downloads are served by GitHub. GitHub's own privacy statement applies to those requests.

Optional feedback

After a download, the site may ask where you heard about Emoji Anywhere. After an uninstall, a page may ask why. Both are optional. If you answer, we store only your answer, any note you choose to write, the app version and the date. We do not store your name, email or IP address. The answers are kept in a private database (Supabase) and used only to improve the app.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
